چکیده

Abstract The determination of soil hydraulic properties is important in several environmental sciences but may be expensive and time consuming. Therefore, during the last decades, a great effort has been made to develop relatively easy, robust, inexpensive methods for characterization. In this manuscript, we reviewed discussed different infiltrometer techniques light available experimental applications. More specifically, considered simplified falling head (SFH) technique single-ring infiltration experiment Beerkan type. Concerning latter method, algorithms data analysis: two based on analysis transient (TSBI) steady (SSBI) data, Estimation Soil pedoTransfer parameters algorithm (BEST), that allows estimate characteristics curves, i.e., water retention curve conductivity functions. For given after dealing briefly theory practice, literature references were reported account specific applications order provide findings method validation application. With aim practical information tools simpler application methods, video tutorials show i) how conduct correctly field experiments ii) calculate saturated or functions using user-friendly analysis. Finally, details new automated (i.e., construction, assembly use) presented.

assessment of indirect methods to estimate soil hydraulic properties for simulating soil moisture in a sandy loam soil

soil hydraulic properties are key soil physical characteristics that are required to conduct soil and water related studies such as irrigation and drainage. in this study, three indirect methods: inverse modeling, pedo-transfer function, and the semi-physical method of arya et al., were compared in a sandy loam soil to estimate soil moisture retention and unsaturated hydraulic conductivity curv...

Methods for prediction of soil dielectric properties: a review

Electromagnetic sensors such as ground penetrating radar and electromagnetic induction sensors are among the most widely used methods for the detection of buried land mines and unexploded ordnance. However, the performance of these sensors depends on the dielectric properties of the soil, which in turn are related to soil properties such as texture, bulk density, and water content. To predict t...
